I first considered writing Rogue Testament more than two decades ago. After concluding my career in media, such a novel still seemed a fascinating and important story.

As a media executive, I was blessed with success dramatically growing both audience and revenues as General Manager/CEO of two PBS stations. In SoCal I engineered the purchase of KOCE’s broadcast license by the KOCE TV Foundation, relocated transmitters to Mt. Wilson resulting in a population coverage of more than sixteen million people in LA, Orange County , Santa Barbara, Inland Empire, and Coachella Valley. We then rebranded KOCE to become what is today PBS SoCal. I also served six years on the PBS Board of Directors which meant frequent trips to Washington, DC.

So, Rogue Testament authorship, including a few rewrites, remained on hold until it could be a top priority. I knew this tale must be crafted and set primarily in Mediterranean countries. During the next few years I traveled to Cyprus, Malta, Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Spain to understand the ethos of each nation and learn a bit about their respective cultures.

Ultimately, Rogue Testament’s mysteries and dangers are exciting literary devices as we also explore each character’s existential angst, be it religious or secular.

Enjoy!
